Summer Program


Welcome to our Summer 2018 Camp

This is our first year of offering a full summer program.

StriderThe camp is open to children from 3 – 6 yrs old (and older alumni). The summer is different from our regular school year with both schedule and activities. We will be visiting our garden at the Growing Gardens site, growing food at the school, going to the museum and library, going on hikes, exploring creeks, water play, and spending lots of time discovering the neighborhood on Strider bikes.  We will also be having indoor activities with recycled art, singing and dancing, story act outs, and bog block building.

We have a limit on the number of children we can accept, so to ensure that your schedule is available, we recommend booking as early as possible.  For children who have an IEP, please contact the school before enrolling your child.  We are limited with the number of children with special needs that we can accommodate, and we do require that children are capable of taking public transport, going on local field trips on bikes, Striders, tricycles, or scooters.  If your family has not participated in Children’s House Preschool, we ask that parents come to the school for a tour and for us to meet your child.

Scheduling and Tuition

We have either a 9-12, 12-3, or 9-3 schedule each day, with 3 set schedules: M-F; M,W,F; and T,Th each week from June 4th through August 24th. Please select the schedule you would like. Tuition comes to $10 an hour for the first child, and additional children receive 10% discount. We will verify your child’s registration via email. Children’s House enrolls students on a first come, first serve, basis. Tuition is due upon enrollment for families not attending Children’s House during the school year (an invoice will be sent out the following business day), and by May 1st for current students. Please contact the school directly if you need alternate arrangements.

Refunds will be available as follows:4 weeks prior to booked session 100% refund less $25 admin fee, 2-4 weeks before session 50% refund.  Less than 2 weeks before your scheduled session we are unable to refund your tuition.

Drop in rates during camp are $12.00 an hour, based on availability and must be paid at the time of service.

Paperwork

All Summer Camp participants must be potty trained. All children attending summer camp must have documentation of up to date complete vaccinations, a current physical from your doctor, and complete our online enrollment form which will be supplied upon registration. If your child currently attends Children’s House, no additional forms will be necessary. All tuition must be paid prior to your child attending camp.

Details

Snack will be provided by the school, every morning and afternoon.

We ask that children bring:

  • Lunches that are portable for picnics.WE HAVE A STRICT NO NUTS POLICY
  • Spare clothes and swim gear for water play.
  • A labelled water bottle
  • Sunscreen (please apply at the start of each day)
  • Hat
  • Helmet for riding bikes or Striders

Wait-list

If there is “waitlist” next to a certain schedule, it means that schedule is currently full. You can still choose this schedule, as it may only be one day of the schedule that is unavailable. We will contact you upon booking to let you know the details. If we have enough children enroll on the wait-list, we may be able to increase staff and accept more students.
