After 50 years of preschool in Boulder, Children’s House is making some changes for the 2021-22 school year. The past year has shown us how wonderful school can be with smaller classes and more time outdoors. What started as recommendations from the health department, have sent us in a new direction for the future. We are combining the practicalities of a small pod of students with an outdoor curriculum that will have the children spending their time learning and playing in nature.
Our curriculum will be inspired by Project Learning Tree, Kids Gardening, and Nature Explore, and will follow a Reggio Emilia approach where the children’s passions are the inspiration for the lessons. We have contracted a bus for the year to take the children further afield and also have bikes to make the most of our position an a bike path in Boulder.
Our schedule is 8:30 – 1:00pm Monday through Thursday, and we follow the Boulder Valley School District for major breaks and federal holidays. Children 4-7 are welcome to attend and for all of our children, we strive to meet the guidelines of Colorado’s Common Core Standards using nature as our teacher. If this interests you please reach out for more information or apply at https://childrenshousepreschool.org/registration/. We only are accepting 12 children into this very special program so don’t hesitate.
