Construction on Iris

Monday at the snack table the children were excited about the construction happening near the school. They were mentioning the different types of trucks they saw, what similar toys they have at home, and the toys we have for the sandbox. With all the talk, we went on a little walk to observe the site up close. The children were interested in many aspects of the construction site. They wanted to know what the yellow tape said, how it was connected to the post, how many crew members there were, how many cones were used, the amount of dump trucks needed, the materials needed, how a steam roller worked, how long the work will take, and what the heavy smell was.
