Summer Camp at Children’s House

Ages 3-6 June 3rd through August 23

When you hear the word “summer,” what do you think of? Sunshine? Adventure? Travel? Well this summer your child will be enjoying all of the above! Throughout the summer at Children’s House Preschool, we will be traveling to countries all over the globe. On Mondays, we will board our “plane” and travel to a new country. Throughout the week we will explore the language, music, art and other aspects of that country’s culture. There is a lot we can all learn about ourselves and others through travel!

Each child will receive their own passport book that will be stamped whenever they visit a new country. Since we will be spending much of our time enjoying the summer outdoors, we will go on field trips to the local library and visit parks where we can read books and play customary games from the countries we are visiting. When it’s time to be indoors, we will do art activities that correlate with that country such as painting ceilings like Michelangelo or recreating sculptures of Greek statues. These will be souvenirs the children can take home to remember their trips.

We’d love to have families share aspects of their own culture to spark the children’s interests and continue to develop home/school connections. Specific plans are still in the works for this program, so please let us know if there is any specific country you’d like to have your child explore. Justine and Ellie are looking forward to all the traveling we’ll be doing this summer with your children. Adventure awaits!
